Local Organisations

There are several organisations in Instow which offer a range of services, activities or interests. These are a few of them:

Instow Community Primary School. Located on the hill to the east of the village, our local primary school which teaches around 130 pupils was rated good by OFSTED at its inspection in November 2016.

Appledore-Instow ferry. Offering a regular crossing of the River Torridge the ferry provides an enjoyable means of visiting Appledore from Instow, avoiding the need to make a long journey by road. Sailing times and prices are available on this website:

All Saints Community Centre, located on Anstey Way, is available for meetings, exhibitions, parties, coffee mornings etc. There is a safe peaceful garden for the use of the public, which has playground equipment for younger children. The Instow Village People are group of residents who volunteer their time once a month to work together for the betterment of their village. Full details about what they do are available on their website:

Instow People

St John The Baptist Church is an old medieval Church of England church in the village. Services are held every other Sunday, except when there are joint services within the Mission Community of Westleigh, Instow and Fremington. During the winter months these services are sometimes held at All Saints Chapel.

In the centre of the village there is All Saints Chapel. This acts as a community centre and place of worship.
